In this article, we'll show you how to use the Shopify app "Locksmith" to automatically hide product pages at a specified date and time.

There is a lot of information on how to automatically publish product pages, but I can't find a way to automatically hide them. This information is useful for those who are in the same situation.

1. What I want to achieve

Automatically hide product pages at a specified date and time.

2. Methods

Use the app " Locksmith ".

3. Procedure

Here are the steps:
1). Install Locksmith
2). Set up with Locksmith
I will explain each one in order.

1). Install Locksmith

① Search for “Locksmith” in the Shopify App Store .
②Click "Add App" in Locksmith to install it.

2). Locksmith settings

①Select "Locksmith" using one of the following methods:
・Administrative screen "Apps" → Locksmith
・Go to "Settings" at the bottom left of the admin screen → Apps and Sales Channels → Locksmith

②Search for the product you want to set in the “Add Lock” search bar and click on the target product.

③Check "Enable this lock" and click the "Create lock" button.

④Click the “Add the first key” button and select “is visiting before a certain date and time”.

⑤Set the date and time you want to make the post private.

⑥Check the following two items, confirm that the date and time are set in ⑤, then click "Save".

  • Hide any links to this product
  • Hide this product

This completes the setup.

4. Operation

When the specified date and time arrives, the following will happen:

Displaying the top page and collection pages

The product grid on the product page will be hidden.

When you access the URL of a product page

The following message will be displayed:

If you want to change this message, you can change it in the lock settings.

5. Supplementary Information

If it is not hidden

Depending on your theme, you might not be able to hide the product grid on your homepage or collection pages.

The following were not hidden in Implusse 5.4.0:
・Collection page ・Search results

In that case, contact Locksmith and they will fix the code for you.

In the case of search apps and dynamic searches, it may not be hidden

Products may not be hidden using search apps such as "Product Filter & Search" or the theme's own dynamic search function(*).
* A function that displays search suggestions while you are entering search keywords.
In this case, you can avoid this by doing the following:
- Displayed in dynamic search: Turn off dynamic search function
- Displayed in search app or dynamic search: Use the app "Mechanic"
